India has always been a agriculture based economy where about 1/3rd of the economy and population depends directly or indirectly on agriculture and related activities. In such a large country and economy, there are several small farmers who are unable to survive solely based on their agriculture. Therefore, to support such farmers, the Indian government runs several welfare schemes, and one such scheme is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), which not only supports weak farmers but also shows them the way to empower themselves.
